Hello lovelies! First of all I am now finally on Bloglovin so if you would like to follow me on there, that would be fabulous! With Halloween fast approaching and the annual 'I don't know what to goes as' begins, I thought long and hard about an unusual and original Halloween outfit, in the end I settled for the classic and over-used Halloween Cat!
Being a student I didn't want to spend a lot on a costume and a cat is a really cheap outfit idea, all you need is black clothing and some cat ears and you're good to go! If however you wanted to increase your feline look a little more I have created a cat look that is simple to recreate and try at home.
What you will need:

  • A medium brown shimmer eyeshadow
  • A matte dark brown eyeshadow
  • A matte black eyeshadow
  • A gold glitter eyeshadow or pigment
  • Shading and Blending eyeshadow brushes
  • Black eyeliner pencil
  • Black liquid/gel liner
  • Black Mascara
  • Nude/Brown lip or eye liner
  • Red Matte Lipstick
  • Red Lipgloss
  • Bronzer
  • Peachy coloured Blush

Start by completing your normal foundation routine and filling in your eyebrows as you would normally for a night out, once you have done this its time to start on your eye make-up, if you have an eyeshadow primer then use this to prime the lids, if not then it doesn't matter as its not essential the primer just helps the eyeshadow stay in place and lasted longer.
Take your medium brown eyeshadow and begin buffing it into the crease of your eye, go as far into the corner of your eye as possible and extend the crease line underneath the brow bone, once you are happy with the coverage, repeat this step with a matte brown eyeshadow. Next take the black eyeshadow and rotate into the outer corners of your eye and crease, smoke it and blend it as much as possible. Once you have finished with this basic smokey eye look, add the gold glitter/pigment on your lid and blend it out into the outer crease. Finish the look with a classic winged cat eye, use your liquid or gel liner to create a flicked eye liner effect, then add to this by using the eye pencil in your water line, take the pencil line all the way into the in corners and up into your upper waterline. Add several coats of mascara or false eye lashes for an added effect!
Use your bronzer to contour your cheek bones and face, not forgetting to heavily contour your nose. For extra dimension, contour the top of your nose with the matte black eyeshadow, normally you don't want obvious contour lines but it works for this look. Once you've finished contouring, apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. To create the cat nose, you will need to take your black eye liner pencil and colour into the bottom part of your nose, then use the pencil to draw a line down your cupids bow.
Use the black pencil as a lip liner for the lips and add extra black in the top and bottom corners of the mouth, take a q-tip and smudge the black into the lips, leaving the middle part free. Take your matte red lipstick and put it on as usual, then take the gloss and place it on the upper and bottom middle of your lips. After you've finished this, its time for whiskers, take a nude or brown pencil and draw dots above your lips, then using the same pencil draw several whiskers up you cheeks, along the cheek bone and then the look is complete! For an extra cat eye effect, try the cat style contact lenses that you can buy online, but if you're like me and on a budget, just keep your eyes as they are.

Hope you enjoyed this look, what are you all dressing up as for Halloween this year?
